Toastmasters is a worldwide group that helps people get better at public speaking. There are over 16,600 clubs in 143 countries.
Our meetings are all about practicing prepared and off-the-cuff speeches, plus giving and getting helpful feedback in a super supportive environment.
The CISO Speakers Toastmasters Club is designed for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and senior cyber security leaders to create a trusted space for peer connection and development.
To maintain the quality and relevance of the group, all requests to attend sessions and applications for membership will be reviewed prior to confirmation.
Membership is expected to be around £160 for a 12 month period.
Most of this fee goes directly to Toastmasters International, which provides access to the global education platform, training materials, and member resources.
The remaining portion is reinvested back into our members – meeting room hire, funding trophies, ribbons, drinks, and refreshments at meetings.
If you’d like to attend as a guest, please be sure to register in advance on your preferred day. If you would like to become a member, please complete the membership enquiry form and we will be in touch.
Not at all! Just showing up is a great start. We understand that speaking in front of people can be nerve-wracking, so we never force anyone to talk.
If you want to just sit back and see how it works, that’s completely fine. We do offer a chance for guests to introduce themselves, but it’s totally optional - you can skip it if you’re not feeling ready yet.
On the other hand, if you’re up for a challenge, you can join in on table topics. These are fun, short, 1–2 minute impromptu speeches that are always good fun.
Meetings are all about practicing your speaking skills and getting constructive feedback.
Here’s how it’s usually broken down:
-
Prepared speeches: Members deliver talks they’ve planned in advance.
-
Table topics: Improvised speeches where you think on your feet.
Evaluations: Friendly, helpful feedback to help you improve.
-
We’d love to have you join one of our weekly meetings - It’s a great way to get a feel for how everything works.
